The SP-2000 NOVOCOAT Advantages

1. The Environmental Choice

NovoCoat SP-2000 is 100% solids, contains no solvents and no VOC’s. Volatile Organic Compounds have long been an environmental hazard.

Historically, coatings have been a source of these volatile organic compounds (VOC's), which contribute to the demise of our atmosphere. From the inception of the NovoCoat line, Superior has been committed to contributing to the solution instead of contributing to the problem.

NovoCoat SP-2000 meets and exceeds all state and federal regulations and guidelines for VOC emissions. In fact, the NovoCoat SP-2000 meets the highly stringent South Coast Air Quality Management District VOC regulations.

2. Superior Adhesion to Pipe

NovoCoat SP-2000 bonds both mechanically and chemically to the substrate, yielding exceptional adhesion results.

When SP-2000 is applied on a properly prepared substrate adhesion values in excess of 3,000 psi (ASTM 4541) are achieved.  In the field, where less than ideal conditions exist, SP-2000 adheres to itself in excess of 2,000 psi.

3. Superior Chemical Resistance

NovoCoat SP-2000 resists the most stringent chemical attack. SP-2000 has a proven track record as a corrosion resistant lining on metal, concrete storage tanks as well as concrete structures in extremely hostile environments for over fifteen years.

NovoCoat SP-2000 is fully resistant to the harshest chemicals including:

And Many More. Please refer to Chemical Resistance Chart for full listing.

4. Safe Enough Even for Potable Water ANSI/NSF 61

SP-2000  is versatile enough even for potable water.  Though waste water and potable water rarely mix, it is nice to know that pipe lined with SP-2000 has ANSI/NSF61 certification for potable water applications.

5. Adhering to Industry Standards for Spark Testing

NACE, SSPC, & ASTM Standards call for high voltage testing of 100 to 125 volts for per mil for proper holiday testing on coatings greater than 20 mils.

All pipe lined with SP-2000 is tested to ensure these standards are met. All testing is performed at 5,000 volts or higher at a 40 mil coating thickness.  No pipe is released unless this standard is met.

6. Quick, Economical & Efficient Field Repairs

When repairs are needed, SP-2000 can accommodate the job. With field repair kits, a pipe can be repaired and put back into service within hours.

Making a tee or a connection has never been as easy to repair when using an SP-2000 field repair kit. Everything to make the repair is included in the kit from sand paper to a solvent cleaning card, allowing a quick and easy repair. No need to carry additional supplies, the field repair kit contains everything you need. You never know when a repair will be needed, and SP-2000 field repair kits allow timely and economical repairs without compromising the integrity of the pipe coating.
